Kim Weston is a vocalist, violinist, band leader, and recording artist.Kim writes her rich, textural originals from a center of experience but also from her imagination and even from current events. She dives into American Songbook material as well as standards and contemporary tunes that lend themselves to a wider interpretation than strictly jazz or pop. Inspired by artists like Melody Gardot, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell and jazz innovators like Herbie Hancock her voice is diverse, mature and after the downbeat, her nuanced alto floats over the band’s harmony Paul Desmond-like, with subtle sophistication.
